The Café Gourmand was established in Bujumbura in May 2012 through a franco-burundian union and has fast become a recognized institution in the East-African Community. Our philosophy is to offer products with strong standards of quality by using traditional French pastry and bakery savoir-faire; kindling the feeling of a Parisian boulangerie in the heart of Africa.

The Café Gourmand is also very proud of its Burundian identity. Our team is comprised of more than 80 local staff; partners in various sectors work hard each day to provide us with their best products. We guarantee that all our products use high quality raw materials; supplied locally by Burundian traders, these are essential for the distinct and superior taste of all our viennoiserie, pastry, bakery, and ice cream range of products.
